How does the capacitive fuel-level sensor work?

A capacitive sensor is a metal rod inserted vertically into the tank. As fuel level rises and falls, the dielectric constant between the rods changes. The sensor measures the change and converts it to a fuel-level reading. ±2% accurate after calibration, every 30 seconds.

What is the difference between capacitive and ultrasonic?

Capacitive mounts inside the tank and reads directly. Most accurate, our default for trucks and marine. Ultrasonic mounts outside and pings the fuel surface through the tank wall. Non-invasive but less accurate on saddle tanks or baffled marine tanks.

Can a thief defeat the sensor?

Defeating the sensor is hard; defeating the alert is harder. Tamper-proof harnessing means any disconnect leaves a power-cut signature within seconds. Even if the device is bypassed, the symptom (sudden fuel-level drop) triggers the alert.

Do I need GPS tracking too?

Technically standalone is possible, but we strongly recommend pairing with Truck Tracking (or Boat Tracker for marine). Fuel data alone tells you something disappeared. GPS tells you where. The two together are the actionable product.
